Man, this one was so much fun to make. The Fourth of July is one of the biggest reasons of the year to celebrate, and nobody celebrates better than Pinkie Pie! Obviously, they don't have July 4th in Equestria, so we can just consider this an Equestrian Summer Celebration, courtesy of Ponyville's Party Guru!
There's so much party going on in this picture, I love it.
Pinkie Pie and her party cannons are (c) Hasbro and Lauren Faust.
Fantastic, awesome, overjoyed, I can't even begin to describe this. Normally placing the central object in the center is a no-no, but you offset her with the cannons and explosions very well, which gives the whole piece depth. Very bright and colorful and appeasing to the eye. I can definitely see Miss Pinkie doing this for the 4th of July. Great highlights and shadows all throughout, which adds to the festive and high-emotion and party nature of the scene. I would have to say that this is my favorite pony piece of work so far! You deserve a bro hoof!
Easily an impressive display of various techniques. Usage of color and shading go hand and hand and each element seamlessly works with one another to create the depth the piece needs. Pinkie is drawn with very detailed shading and highlights to reflect the explosive riddled night sky, while still using the same art style found in the show as a guide for this work's art. The background uses various colors and centers around the details of their parent firework pieces, making the background very believable. The balloons can be a bit confusing in some locations depth-wise, but it is only minimal. And the whole piece stays in style of Pinkie Pie: A cheerful quagmire of coordinated chaos and unbridled joy of all things party.
Looks like fun! Of course, Pinky would celebrate America's Independence Day ... any excuse to celebrate is fine with her .... don't forget Canada Day three days earlier! I celebrate that too ... our Canadian bretheren are awesome!
